Hi Quixel,

I cannot find any ways to adjust the tiling in 3DO like it was in previous version with tiling slider so that is very inconvenient in a texture workflow?

Is there a work around please?

Hello.

3Do stopped working properly some days ago and crashed. A notification always says my computer does not have enough RAM. I had 8GB and it used to work well. However, I upgraded to 24GB RAM and it STILL crashes, saying the computer does not have enough RAM. I somehow doubt it is a RAM issue.

Any ideas what may cause this? I will reset Photoshop and see if this changes something. What would you suggest for the virtual space settings in Photoshop and WIndows (Win10)?

When I create a new DDO project (with optimize mesh unchecked, as always) it initially loads the mesh scrambled. I can re-import the same mesh in 3DO settings and it seems correct.

hey guys!
I recently bought quixel because this tool is amazing.
Yesterday i finally found the time to do some stuff with it... but unfortunately it crashes all the time while iam switchen between the tabs like "AlbdoM/Gloss/Metalness/Normal". It doesnt matter which of them i choose first after pressing the tab quixel gives me that error message instantly.

I hope you can help me somehow :)

Benjamin

Answered: Reimporting leaves a gray model in 3do(but textures appear as expected in ps)

When I reimport my base textures & model, the model sometimes turns into just an untextured gray model, across all maps(albedo gloss normal etc) in 3do. Yet the textures in PS seem to appear as normal. Also there shouldn't be anything wrong with the textures as when I recreate the project from scratch using the same textures, it works as normal.
Restarting 3do/DDO/PS doesnt appear to have any effect

Hi !

I wonder if a "favorite" (instead of looking for my favorite peeled paint metal) and "double click" (instead of needing to clic on Active Doc which is my by default) could be able in ndo "Photo-Normal preset" ?

So I'm very new to the Suite and I'm using it for my college work, however, when I load up the 3DO it shows the object completely white. I have no problem when loading at college, so could anyone help me understand what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you in advance!

Here's a screenshot of what it looks like and my setup of 3DO.

I keep messing up and losing work! No undo.

Currently trying to learn Quixel Suite DDO to create tileable normal maps, just playing with scifi panels. And I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but seem to have lost my work several times due to me having probably the wrong layer selected.  It seems to destroy all the work I've done, fair enough if I've made a mistake usually i'd just undo but DDO seems to lose all undo history once I make this mistake which means I'm working almost nervously.

Before this image I had a few folders with some intersecting panels. I went to create a new selecting and hit the convert to normal button and I ended up with this...

Now I can only step forward and backwards between what you see above and the following..Cannot go further back which means my prevous work is lost. :(

Is this just the nature of DDO as it's pretty punishing if it is.

hello,

I´d like to ask, if there is a way to use the "Mixer" tool for the materials, that are provided with the Quxiel suite.
Looks like you can not use Mixer at all, if you have no acitve megascans account... it´s a pitty !
I mean - come one ...

I've been totally unable to deactivate my license after I recently upgraded my hardware. The emails that I get sent to deactivate do not work, you can't select the button at all, and the deactivate license button doesn't do anything. I also sent an email to quixel support a few days ago and still haven't gotten a reply back. I'm at my wits end now

Subscriptions come with a set number of points each month used to download content. Points get refilled every month and all unused points stay in your wallet forever. However, saved points can only be utilized with an active subscription.

Does this mean when you get your refill the points that if you have a freelance license and you have 30 unused points. That it will be 30+40 so you have a total of 70 points or will it be refilled to 40 so you will basically lose 30 points?

Answered: How do I use the leaf scans from Megascans

I'm new to the 3D world so this question may seem silly to most of you.  I'm trying really hard to understand photorealistic texturing (specifically for plants/trees).  I have watched videos from gnomon workshop detailing how to create the plants, trees, etc.  I feel like I have a basic understanding of the concept of scanning/creating my own leaf textures but I've run into a problem.  The tutorials explain how to set up the uv's (using a mel script) so that you can use a 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 diffuse map to add variety to your leaves in paintFx.  I've been successful with that so I decided to check out megascans for some better quality leaf scans.  When I downloaded some of them, I noticed that the maps aren't broken up into distinct quadrants like I had been making.  They are just all bunched together in the 0-1 space.  Maybe it's a stupid question but I'm really having a hard time understanding how to use the leaf scans from megascans.  I also can't seem to get the ground textures to look good either (definitely not like the stuff I'm seeing other people create)...but I guess I'll worry about that another day.  Any advice or suggested websites to help would be greatly appreciated.  I've tried searching google but can't find a "detailed" explanation of how to use the downloaded leaf scans.

For one reason or another, ever since I updated the Suite, and wanted to try making a new paint layer to mess with stuff, this warning pops up. Afterwards, no input works at all when trying to paint, either on my tablet or with my mouse. Can anyone help me figure out why this is doing that?

New to Quixel suite but not 3D.  My 3DO preview shows a model in wretched shape - it seems the triangulation is wacked, etc.
I've imported a textured .obj file, and imported the baked normal map (generated from blender).
Since I can't adequately describe what has happened, I am including some screenshots showing the diffuse, normal (and I know there are problems with the normal map, esp. rear), 3do preview and the source model appearance in my 3d app.

Is this something I can fix (I assume 3DO is messing up with triangulation)?  The model is not solid - should it be?
Thanks

Today I downloaded the Suite and unfortunately I came with an error that has the name of "Crash and date I try to open" it always comes with a different number of error, see the print I took the link below.

after I put in the "Yes" that translating to English is "Yes" (I am from Brazil then it gets in Portuguese the buttons) it opens the error files, which has two a notepad file and others from .DMP.

on the left side of the print you can see that there are several types of errors, all of them are the times that I tried to open, clicking on the notepad file are all the same errors, the notepad says the following:

I will be very grateful for the help :)

Confused with dDo legacy - it constantly crashes.

Hiya,

I realise this is the somewhat official forum, and I'm asking about a piece of legacy, free software, but hey, I thought I'd try. I'm modeling for a 10 year old game, so I figured dDo legacy might be a good addition to automate what I'm currently doing in max and photoshop.

Anyway, I downloaded dDo legacy and installed it. Installation went fine. However, when I load dDo with photoshop CC 2017, I don't get the 'automation hub', as is shown in the AK tutorial

I get only an empty dDo window in which I can create a new texture base. After feeding it all the maps (color ID, tangent space, AO, world-space normals) and a mesh, it start working and lo, creates a nice project in photoshop. The only odd thing is I get the following error during the process:

Furthermore, a dummy.psd remains open with 0 pixels. Unfortunately, this is about as far as it goes. The previewer also opens and my model sits there with what basically looks like an AO map and normals applied (the ones I baked).

(bits and pieces are supposed to be missing, this is really much a test)

The diffuse materials folder in PS stays emtpy. I'm not sure how to progress from here as my user interface is completely different from the tutorials, but going to [modules] -> [presets...] looks like the right path to start assigning materials and generating stuff. But no matter what I try, each and every material, wear pattern, or anything really, causes ddo to stop responding. Photoshop itself and the previewer remain open an usable.

So, basically what I'm asking is: dDo 5.3 x64, photoshop CC 2017 x64, win10. Do they play nice together? Or am I just fundamentally misunderstanding things? I'm running stuff as admin by the way.

Oh, by the way, once again I fully realise I'm asking for answers for a bit of software that's been released for free.
